The AL series air-lift pump is generally used for lifting water containing sludge or sand.
Air is fed through calibrated holes to create a column of water that moves upwards.
The air-lift consists of:
– An intakemouth;
– A lifting pipe with cut-off valve;
– An air-lift valve body;
– A set of pipes for the delivery of air and water.
The salient feature of this type of machine is the absence of mechanical components that move in contact with the lifted fluid, and the big flow clearance almost equal to the diameter of the delivery pipe.
The diameter of the pipe varies according to the type and quantity of liquid to be lifted.
Air capacity strongly depends on the required head and head/immersion ratio.
The pump can be made of PVC, carbon steel or stainless steel.
